ASSESS & ABCDLearning-Level Assessments
While India has made significant progress in measuring Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) through various surveys, and conceptual learning through PARAKH, schools and foundations lack access to detailed, school-level diagnostic assessments that identify the exact conceptual competence of students and teachers.
Our ASSESS (Assessment of School Studies, Education System & Standards) framework addresses this gap through ABCD (Assessment of Baseline Competency & Diagnosis), a comprehensive diagnostic assessment tool that measures competence in conceptual understanding and application.
ABCD provides granular insights into student performance across broad and narrow curriculum topics, cognitive skills such as recall, understanding and application, as well as Curricular Goals and Competencies as per National Curriculum Framework 2023.
The framework incorporates globally accepted principles like Bloom’s Taxonomy & Mastery Learning, while generating detailed report for each school. ASSESS enables schools, NGOs, CSR partners to strengthen learning through data-driven decision-making and measurable learning improvement.

A diagnosis teachers can use in class
- 1
Plan
Scope, grades, sampling and syllabus-linked papers.
- 2
Assess
Administer and score in schools.
- 3
Analyse
By grade, topic, question type and competency.
- 4
Report
School-wise Science and Maths reports with priorities.
- 5
Act
Targeted support, remedial work or teacher development, where agreed.
Not just whether a student got it right
A student may struggle because earlier foundations are weak, the language is hard, or recall has not yet become application. ABCD makes these differences visible.
Science
- Recall and understanding
- Application, analysis or observation
- Language basics
- New learning
Mathematics
- Recall and procedures
- Understanding and reasoning
- Application and word problems
- Data interpretation
- Basic mathematics
