Financial LiteracyMoney Skills for Life
Financial literacy is an essential life skill, yet most students complete school with little understanding of money, banking, budgeting, savings, investments, insurance or taxes.
Many students and families, particularly in rural and economically disadvantaged communities, often find it difficult to plan for long-term goals such as higher education, marriage, retirement or financial security.
Through our Financial Literacy Programme, students learn these concepts through practical activities such as mock barter system, writing cheques, reading bank statements, preparing personal budgets and making digital payments, rather than by theory alone.
Delivered by experienced Chartered Accountants and finance professionals, the programme develops financial responsibility, informed decision-making and a long-term mindset. We have done these programmes in government and private schools, in rural and urban areas in regional languages.
The financial literacy programme was very useful for our students, the first of its kind at our school. I believe the lessons will stay with them throughout their lives, helping them put what they have learnt into practice and bringing about a positive change.
